3rd Annual JFS Seminar in Organic Agriculture and Educational Gardening
The Jewish Farm School will run its 3rd annual 4-day seminar in Organic Agriculture and Educational Gardening as a track of the Teva Learning Center’s Seminar on Jewish Environmental Education. This seminar is intended for informal educators seeking to integrate farming or gardening into their work.
Seminar Highlights:
- Experience an early morning harvest at an organic farm in the Hudson Valley: meet the farmers, sink your hands into the soil and learn how small-scale, sustainable agriculture operates - first hand .
- Learn the skills to build your own Jewish garden: work side by side with professionals to construct an edible garden on-site, unearthing the various elements that make it Jewish.
- Study traditional Jewish texts and contemporary scholarship, examining how major agricultural themes have developed over time and where they stand in today's society.
- Discuss educational curriculum and experiential activities to use within a wide range of teaching environments.
Register through the Teva Learning Center.
