Anafim: The Sustainable Food and Farming Internship

"It was planted by good soil beside abundant waters, that it might yield branches and bear fruit and become a splendid vine"

Ezekiel 17:8

Program Description

Inspired by the Hebrew word Anafim, Branches, The Anafim Spring Internship with the Jewish Farm School provides a unique opportunity for high school seniors and gap year students to immerse themselves deeply in the growing Jewish farming movement while developing leadership, teaching, and outdoors skills. Located at Eden Village Camp's 248 acres just an hour north of NYC, our innovative farm-to-table programming connects Jewish communities and families to our food and to the land while practicing sustainable agricultural techniques rooted in Jewish traditions.

Working side by side with our apprentices, this year's Anafim cohort will practice organic farming and permaculture, work on natural building and cooking projects, participate in hands on trainings, and engage with thought provoking readings, all within a vibrant pluralistic community.

This year's cohort will consist of 4 to 8 interns, who will live on site 3 days a week during the month of May, working on the farm, supporting our educational programs, developing core competencies of Jewish environmental thought and practice, and training to serve as the next generation of leaders in the Jewish community.

A room and board fee of $475 includes all lodging, food and program supplies while at Eden Village Camp. Limited funding is available for students in need.
